Did I Discover the Benefits of Art Too Late?
Sports have always been my thing, from ice hockey, soccer, and basketball to golf, fencing, and tennis, only to mention a few. I was never really introduced to arts as a child and did therefore never gain an interest for it; however, as I grew up I wish I had. Due to competitive environment and focus on STEM subjects, art always came second, if it even came at all.
I moved to the U.S. from Sweden roughly 4 years ago and have seen the same flaw in the educational system – a lack of art! But then I got introduced to Nine Studio who provide everything that I believe I missed as a child, which also is the reason why I decided to join the team.
With today’s technology I believe that everything is possible it just takes creative, curious, outside the box thinking, which I believe is created through art activities. There are no boundaries, no right or wrongs, just endless possibilities. In addition, it is a great platform to develop soft skills through collaborative work.
Art gives children the chance to explore their ideas, express themselves, find new interest, and so much more. The best part of it is that it is a ton of fun! Art is definitely one of the things that I wish I had more exposure to as a child, the benefits are never ending!
With that being said I think that art develops innovators and leaders of tomorrow!
